A chance encounter with my friends "sculpture sketches" or patterns, inspired this ode to form and construction. I have reinterpreted their sketches into a formal representation of the imaginary space that these paper arches hold before the sculpture is constructed. Freezing space before its made.

Monocle Chronicle
My new and collaborative piece Monocle Chronicle is currently on view at Philadelphia's Space 1026 in a group show entitled "Paradise Now." The second in my series of non-projecting projectors, this one has a new innovative wall-mounted position, in contrast to the table top version. The content and imagery of the self-contained motorized viewer has been provided by Jon Schroeder, along with a wonderful soundtrack, especially composed for the monocle chronicle film/projector piece. The "film" follows the mundane activities of a the street on a sunny day, which quickly dissolve into multi-layer pixel mayhem.
It is uniquely housed in the Space Pod (or mini gallery within a gallery, pictured above) built and curated by Caleb Rogers. More picture from the show are available at the Space 1026 website:
